Clinics and Services

Babies

Baby immunisations are available with our practice nurses by appointment only. Six week baby checks are provided by Dr Wright by appointment only.

Phlebotomy

Appointments can be booked at reception.

Anti-coagulation Monitoring

Monitoring for all patients on warfarin is carried out weekly in-house.

Asthma Clinic

Held by a practice nurse, by appointment only.

Cervical smears

All women aged between 25 and 64 are routinely invited for the cervical screening examinations (smears) every 3-5 years, depending on age. Regular cervical screening is the best way to detect early changes in the cells in the cervix (neck of the womb). Early detection and treatment can prevent cancer developing in around 80 to 90% of cases.

Diabetic Clinic

By appointment only with a practice nurse.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors and nurses by appointment only.

Minor Surgery

Dr Wright is assisted by a Health Care Assistant to carry out minor surgical procedures by appointment only. The doctors will be happy to advise you on this.

Patients over 75 Years

Should be seen annually either by a doctor, the practice nurse or HCA. This can be arranged at the surgery.

Immunisation and Vaccinations

Babies and children will be sent appointments by post for routine immunisations. Other vaccinations can be arranged through reception.

Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination

Influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
